Drowning is Exhausting...

Today started like any other day and then....
After a ride to the Knotty Shop for Ice Cream we decided to check out 28 Mile pond. Sounded like a good idea at first. lol! The kids wanted to swim and i didnt have a problem with it as we were all wadding in this super warm water! I sat on the side while they played and threw rocks. Then they both got out of the water so i went up about 10 feet back and sat on picnic table. Yeah no sooner than i do that my son goes running into the water and of course falls. I stand up and tell Brenna to grab him, she was right next to him but she doesnt. I start walking and tell her again, and he is still bobbing up and down in the water and then i run. She gets out of the water and i go baywatch style into the water fully clothed. lol! The water wasnt deep it was lower than my knee but because he fell he was using his hands to try to find the ground to stand up. But when he realized that meant the water was covering his head all he could do was just bob around and look back at me. Such a scary sight, little eyes underwater. He is fine, Brenna was afraid but she is ok now too. I was covered in water, from my graceful run and impact i must have created quite the wave. Its on of those situations where i guess for a few seconds i forgot that my daughter was 6 years old and my expectations of her to grab him were just second nature and a little too much for her age. It started to make me wonder what other things i do and say and expect of her that she may be to young for. I dont know...
Any how so my son later says to me "awe momma i sinked" lol! i cracked up laughing, he is so funny. On our way home in the truck we were talking about it making sure no one was traumatized and my daughter turns to her brother and says "so Ced did you see any thing under there" lol! Again nothing but laughter bursting from my lungs. Such funny kids. Were going back tomorrow with swim suits, floatation devises and food. Wish us luck!
Oh the picture at the top, we had just gotten home and i guess all that underwater work and not swallowing or sniffing water (he held his breath the entire time!) was exhausting! Poor boy.
