*ok i changed this up a tad, i did only half of this recipe and still had way too much for my family. I did not have buttermilk so i did one tablespoon of vinegar and one cup of regular milk per each cup of milk needed. I added the full amount of vanilla and nutmeg. I did little balls instead of full donuts, the two full donuts i did were just to big to handle. I do not have a deep fryer so i just heated my oil up on the stove and when the batter floated is when i knew it was ready. Also this batter is super super super sticky so i used a lot of flour as i went along making the balls and being in the dough. I just cant handle sticky things, with two little kids it reminds me of snot. lol! These are super tasty, kinda thick but still sooooo good and i highly recommend you try them. I am not a fan of making a batter then having to refrigerate it but it was worth the wait!*
I made these for Brenna's last day of school breakfast tomorrow. My kids never get junk like this first thing in the morning so i thought it would be a nice treat for her and a nice way for the teacher to remember my daughter - WIRED! lol! Again i really hope you try these!
